In seinen Felsen befinden sich bronzezeitliche Gr\u00e4ber der Castelluccio-Zivilisation und die Ruinen einer antiken sikanischen Festung, w\u00e4hrend sich in der N\u00e4he der M\u00fcndung eine raffinierte r\u00f6mische Villa aus dem 4. Jahrhundert mit au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlichen polychromen Mosaiken befindet, die Jagdszenen und Mythologie darstellen. Der Tellaro flie\u00dft frei zwischen Platanen, Weiden, Flaumeichen und Johannisbrotb\u00e4umen und beherbergt die Makrostigma-Forelle und eine f\u00fcr sizilianische Fluss schluchten typische Fauna. Das vierte Tal zwischen Ragusa und Siracusa, historisch ein Kreuzungspunkt der Kulturen, ist heute ein Ziel f\u00fcr Wanderer, Wissenschaftler und Liebhaber von Arch\u00e4ologie, Trekking und Vogelbeobachtung.
