Das Erdbeben von 1693 verursachte schwere Sch\u00e4den am Geb\u00e4ude, das jedoch rasch wieder aufgebaut wurde, wobei schlichte und wesentliche architektonische Linien verfolgt wurden. Diese verleihen der Kirche eine zur\u00fcckhaltende, aber elegante Erhabenheit, die bis heute sichtbar ist. Der einschiffige Bau stellt ein Beispiel f\u00fcr ausgewogenen Barock dar, der sich harmonisch in das Stadtbild von Scicli einf\u00fcgt.
