TOURISM: THE DMO “ENJOY BAROCCO” IN PREVIEW AT THE BIT IN MILAN PRESENTS THE VIDEO MADE BY “LONELY PLANET” TO PROMOTE THE “BAROQUE LAND.” IN THE BOOTH OF THE SICILIAN REGION.

RAGUSA – The “Baroque Land” will also be present at the 43rd edition of BIT, the International Tourism Exchange in Milan, hosted by the spaces of the Sicilian Region.

The Dmo “Enjoy Barocco – sicilian experience,” which makes the municipalities of Ragusa, Modica, Scicli, Ispica and Santa Croce Camerina, all falling within the area of GAL Terra Barocca, a unique tourist destination, is officially presented within the Region’s schedule, with the appointment scheduled for Feb. 14 at 11:30 a.m.

The union of these five municipalities, together with the partnership with more than 70 players in the accommodation and tourism sector, led by the communications and events agency MediaLive, is the promoting force that aims to revitalize the enjoyment of this strip of Sicily.

“Enjoy Barocco” therefore lands at the BIT in Milan presenting the peculiarities of the “Baroque Land,” its blue flag sea, its beautiful beaches of fine sand, its countryside, its monuments, some of which are World Heritage Sites, its typical products of excellence, its quality agriculture, but also a leading cultural offer. Here the beautiful is combined with the good, and gastronomic tradition becomes another unmissable protagonist of the area. All pieces that together form a single tourist itinerary, the result of a participatory process to promote the destination and to contribute to the revitalization of tourism and the productive competitiveness of this area of Sicily, in a sustainable vision that allows the different operators to present themselves on the tourist market in an organized and efficient way. And for this special occasion, “Enjoy Barocco” will premiere the video made by
“Lonely Planet”
which tells about the tourist destination through a route to be taken in 48 hours. A successful format that the world’s most famous travel guide narrates with striking images and outstanding testimonials. A modern, engaging and social slant to narrate in a captivating way the territories of Ragusa, Modica, Scicli, Ispica and Santa Croce Camerina, five municipalities but a single reality crossed by a strong identity that through art, culture, folklore, food, nature, sea and warm welcome, presents itself to the visitor as “Terra Barocca,” a wonderful tourist destination.

Speaking at the meeting with journalists, travelers and industry professionals will be Dmo representative Carmelo Saccone, University of Catania lecturer Marco Platania (among other things, coordinator of the Enjoy Barocco destination tourism masterplan design group), Terra Barocca GAL director Salvatore Occhipinti and Lonely Planet Italy director Angelo Pittro.
