Our Lady Vasa Vasa
One of the city’s most characteristic festivals, it attracts thousands of worshippers and onlookers every year.
On Easter morning, the statues of the Risen Christ and Our Lady parade in procession along the main street, never meeting, until noon. This is the highlight of the feast, the “vasàta” (the kiss) that is, the symbolic embrace of Christ with Our Lady, who spreads and clasps her arms in joy and disbelief, abandoning the black mantle of mourning.
