Art in Motion: “Imagina” at the Quam in Scicli
On Saturday, April 1, at the prestigious Quam Galleries in Scicli,“Imagina,” a unique exhibition featuring ten artists from different parts of Italy on the theme of the action image, kicks off. Curated by Antonio Sarnari, in collaboration with Alberto Desirò, this project aims to explore the intersection between photography and painting through the prism of action.
Five photographers and five painters offer a varied reflection on the action image, exploring the concept of imagination through different artistic languages. The very title of the project, “Imagina,” suggests a call for exploration of the inner, fantastical world through a less direct but deeper lens, like an invitation to contemplation.
In the works of photographers, the action of shooting or manipulating the image is the center of a complex and layered research, an attempt to capture the essence of the action itself through the photographic medium. On the other hand, the painting artists propose an evolved and sophisticated language in which the human gesture becomes abstract, ethereal and lyrical, opening up spaces for dialogue and exchange between the two artistic worlds.
Exhibiting artists: Riccardo Bandiera, Valentina Biasetti, Daniele Cascone, Simone Geraci, Monserrat Diaz, Patrizia Mori, Mauro Pinotti, Cetty Previtera, Federico Severino and Stefania Orrù.
This convergence of photography and painting not only allows for an in-depth reading of the affinities between the two languages, but also to identify the contaminations that have characterized both disciplines over the past fifty years. “Imagina” thus presents itself as a unique opportunity to explore the nuances of action through the eyes and hands of ten artists who confront each other with passion and creativity.
