The BIT in Milan provided space for a moment of great interest focused on Terra Barocca during the presentation of the special attachment “Enjoy Barocco,” edited by Gambero Rosso with the support of GAL Terra Barocca. This event was an immersion in the historical and culinary treasures of this unique region, with an immersive experience that allowed participants to discover its distinctive shapes, colors and flavors. In an engaging and evocative setting such as the one designed for the Sicilian Region Pavilion with its more than 1,000 square meters of space, with large LED walls and reflective surfaces, it was exciting to see food and wine take a central role, highlighting not only the scenic beauty but also the cultural and culinary richness of the Baroque Land. From tasting Ragusano Dop Cheese to Modica Igp Chocolate and Cerasuolo di Vittoria Docg wine, this presentation offered a compelling overview of typical local products that are true taste treasures.

The meeting gained authenticity through the direct involvement of local tour operators, such as Giovanni Gravina for Palazzo degli Antoci and Salvatore Fratantonio for the Principe di Belmonte group, who shared their experiences and passions for the Baroque Land. This added value to the presentation, showing how vibrant the area is through the efforts of those who promote it.

Reflections by Gambero Rosso’s Stefano Polacchi highlighted the importance of promoting quality food and wine to attract travelers seeking authentic experiences. This underscores the importance of preserving and enhancing local culinary traditions, enriching the experience of travelers.

Among the speakers, in addition to GAL Terra Barocca director Salvatore Occhipinti and project coordinator Marco Platania, was Tino Antoci, tourism councillor for the Municipality of Modica, who shared exciting data regarding the influx of tourists to the Terra Barocca, highlighting a significant increase in the number of presences in 2023 in the five municipalities that are part of the GAL (Local Action Group) Terra Barocca.

Finally, the speech by the regional councillor for tourism, Elvira Amata, highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration in promoting Terra Barocca. This underscores that the success of initiatives like Enjoy Barocco depends on the synergy among the actors involved.

In conclusion, participation in BIT Milan offered not only an opportunity to explore the wonders of the Baroque Land, but also to reflect on the fundamental importance of experiential tourism. Through engaging experiences such as the one proposed by the “Enjoy Barocco” project and the attachment edited by Gambero Rosso, we were able to appreciate not only the culinary richness, but also the deep history and cultural authenticity of this unique Destination.

Trade shows such as BIT play a crucial role in promoting the diversity and uniqueness of tourism destinations by providing platforms that allow industry players to present their offerings in innovative and engaging ways. So we hope to see you again at the next edition, ready to explore new experiences and once again celebrate the extraordinary beauty and unforgettable charm of the places that make Terra Barocca so fascinating and memorable.
